We will reopen on Tuesday 5/29 with our regular business hours.

Canta y Baila is Back at A Magic Forest

You’ve asked for it, so now it’s happening: Our weekend hours are changing! We will now officially be “Weekend hours vary.”  We will still only be open for play for a three-hour increment, but if we don’t have a morning party, then we will open from 10-1 instead of 12:30 – 3:30. And with that said, this Saturday and Sunday, our Open Play Hours will be 10-1!

Hours:

Monday  – Thursday 10 – 5

Friday 10 – 4

We will be open from 12:30 – 3:30 on Saturday, April 7, and CLOSED on Easter Sunday.

We are very excited to host Havalah Collins and her Canta y Baila music class in the coming weeks!

Canta Y Baila, a spanish immersion music class for young children, is now open for Spring Semester registration!

Spring Semester begins Tuesday, April 10.

Class Time: Tuesdays, 10:30 – 11:15

Location:  A Magic Forest (Back Room)
Classes include:
*10 week session
*CD and Lyric booklet included
*45 minute Spanish music and movement class (use of scarves, shakers, rhythm sticks, drums, and more!)
The class follows the Mixed Age class format (infants to five years old).

Canta Y Baila was taught at the Brooklyn College Early Childhood Center in New York City in 2010 and 2011 and is now coming to the west coast! It was created by and is being taught by Havalah Collins, local mom and member of the children’s music band Tres Leches (www.tresleches.us).

Please include your name, child’s name, date of birth, and any questions you may have.  Be sure to type “Canta Y Baila” in the subject field.  Attend the first class for $20, and register for full semester after class if you choose to! Class tuition of $215 includes Canta Y Baila CD and lyric booklet. One time registration fee of $10 for families signing up for the first time. Discounts for siblings/twins available.

Lots of great stuff coming up at A Magic Forest! This Saturday, March 10 we will be offering a sampling of our lunch fare by chef Coreen Peralta, who is creating an exclusive menu for A Magic Forest’s soon-to-be cafe. Our store hours are 12:30 to 3:30 on weekends, so come in and play a while before the food runs out! THEN, on Tuesday, March 13, Waldorf Mom Melissa Bechtel will perform a Mother March puppet show to welcome Spring. This very special event will take place at 3pm and is only $2 in addition to the cost of Open Play. We look forward to seeing you at A Magic Forest!

Welcome to A Magic Forest, a Waldorf-inspired children’s store, play space and cafe.  We’ve created a bright, home-like environment where parents and caregivers can engage with their children in open play, or if they choose, hang out, drink a cup of coffee and read the paper while their kids play in a secure, imaginative play-based environment.
